We do not collect clinical health records or detailed medical history through website forms. That information is collected and stored exclusively within Jane App after you book an appointment.

Through Jane App

Jane App is used to manage appointments, patient records, and payments. Information collected through Jane App includes contact details, health history, clinical notes, appointment records, and payment information. Jane App is fully PHIPA-compliant with Canadian data storage.

Through Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to collect anonymized data about how visitors use the site, including pages visited, general geographic location, device type, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics does not collect personally identifiable information and has no access to health or clinical data. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Through Meta Pixel

4. Health information and PHIPA

As a Registered Naturopathic Doctor with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO), Dr. Simone is a health information custodian under PHIPA. Personal health information (PHI) collected in the course of providing care is:

• Collected only with your consent and for the purpose of providing care

• Stored securely within Jane App, with Canadian data storage

• Accessed only by Dr. Simone and authorized staff as required for your care

• Never shared with third-party marketing platforms

• Retained in accordance with CONO record-keeping requirements

5. Email marketing and CASL

Dr. Simone uses Mailchimp to send health content and practice updates. In accordance with CASL:

• You will only receive marketing emails if you have provided express consent

• Every marketing email includes a functional unsubscribe link

• Unsubscribe requests are honoured within 10 business days

Only your name, email address, and health concern tag are stored in Mailchimp. No clinical information is stored there. Mailchimp servers are located in the United States.

This website uses cookies to support analytics and advertising. Cookies in use include Google Analytics cookies, Meta Pixel cookies, and Wix platform cookies for website functionality. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

Jane App

8. Your rights

Under PHIPA and PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal or health information we hold about you

• Request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information

• Withdraw consent for collection or use of your personal information

• Request deletion of your information, where legally permitted

• Receive a copy of your health record

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10. We respond to all requests within 30 days. Complaints about health information handling can be directed to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario at ipc.on.ca.

9. Data retention

Patient health records are retained in accordance with CONO requirements — a minimum of 10 years from the date of the last entry, or until a minor patient turns 28, whichever is later.

Mailchimp subscriber data is retained while you remain subscribed. Google Analytics data is retained for 26 months by default.
